Please
take time to watch this if you missed it on the Today Show. Let this
remind us all what God wants us to do. No matter how bad we think we
have it, someone has it worse. It is our obligation as a child of God,
who gives so much, to give back and to help our fellow man in need. I
am indeed humbled by this story. So often we, including myself, tend to
judge people that are on the side of the road asking for money for
food. "Are they really hungry or going to use it for alcohol or
drugs?". I shall recall what my dear sister, Teresa Bacon Hale,
said, "It's none of her business to know what a man does with the
money, only that she has given as Christ has commanded her to". What he
does from there is his responsibility, and he has to answer to God. If
we all take one thing off the gift list for someone and give it to the
less fortunate, just think of how many happy people there will be in
December. We don't have to stop there either. God
Bess you all! As a reminder to myself, I have no right to judge anyone. It is against God's will and a sin.
Matthew 6:1-6
Giving to the Needy
1 "Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be
seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 "Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet
before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets,
that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have
their reward. 3 "But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left
hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 "that your charitable deed
may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward
you openly.
